Christmas Lockdown: an alternative way to gather and connect.
Please apply below for one of our limited number ( *50) discount codes for 75% off the Monthly Subscription joining fee – applications closing at 1pm GMT on the 24th December.
PLEASE NOTE THIS OFFER HAS NOW ENDED.
I’ve always believed that part of running a business is about social conscience, and never more so than last night when I read about the Level 4 lockdown and the changes to Christmas. This discount is to help to bring some cheer during a time when the nation’s Christmas plans have been ruined, to find a way to connect to new friends all over the world, and a chance to learn something new that goes well beyond January’s new years resolutions.
Helping to connect
Learning about making sourdough is so calming and therapeutic. My focus on sourdough over the past year has been on the connection between baking and mental health, and the focus in the Sourdough Club forum is on helping to support people that really need it right now, with bread and friendship, and so that’s exactly what I’m going to do. The Club pages are a way to attend the Sourdough School virtually and hang out with me without leaving your kitchen, and yet be part of a community. In light of the current situation I feel it is only right to make this amazing resource as accessible as possible, so if you have been separated from your family this Christmas I am inviting you to join our sourdough family – I am going to give out 50 discount codes for 75% off the joining fee of our Monthly subscription, over the next 48 hours.
How much will it cost me to join?
The normal Monthly subscription option is £99 joining fee to set you up and then just £9.99 per month thereafter, however we are issuing discount codes for a 75% discount off the joining fee making it just £24.75 to join for one month and then £9.99 for each additional month – all that we then ask is that you remain a member, join the forum and follow the lessons for 3 months.
More than just big holes
It’s more important now than ever to find a way to connect with others, especially for people who are self-isolating, are away from their family over Christmas or people who are vulnerable. Our Sourdough Club is very active online – with an interactive forum, events and conversations and encouragement – we are a community. The Club is literally alive every day with baking, conversations on the forum, recipe discussions and the latest research, tips, regular inspiring recipes and brilliant webinars, a new Book Club, as well as discounts for members. You also get updates with news to be in the know before anyone else about the latest books by me, Vanessa Kimbell, and courses at the Sourdough School and I will be focusing in January on ways to bake to support the gut microbiome and immunity in practical and inexpensive ways.
There is more ..
You will not just learn to make Sourdough, but you can order (after Christmas now) a free sourdough starter to get you going, and you will discover why sourdough is the healthiest bread and find out how we apply our 7 core principles to your baking to help your digestion & benefit your overall health & well-being. There is a world of information inside the Club with core knowledge, so you learn to understand sourdough, and have a whole community of bakers to support you.
Optimal health both mentally and physically
All of my course content, research, recipes and more go onto this platform. I’ve filled it with video masterclasses and articles answering every question you could possibly have about sourdough. Beyond that, I’ve shared my passion and knowledge from studying my PhD in Bread and Digestion. There are many articles, research papers and formulae specifically focused on how sourdough and inclusions can help boost our immune system and support our gut health. Right now, this knowledge is more valuable than ever. We need to look after ourselves, our loved ones and those around us.
Limited numbers
I wish I could share all of this knowledge with everyone for free right now, but as a small business in this very challenging time, I have to ensure I am at the very least covering overheads so that I can continue. Therefore, I’m offering 75% off the joining fee for our Monthly Sourdough Club Membership just for those who truly need it right now. Please complete the form below to apply.
Please note that we have a limited number of discount codes and those who are chosen are completely at my discretion. It’s not easy for me to be able to check if everyone genuinely fits the criteria, so I can only ask that you please apply honestly. Please do not apply if you are already with your family as you will be taking a voucher from someone who is alone or separated from loved ones, and we will be reading each individual application to try and make sure that we are allocating the discounts fairly.
*Subject to the number of applications, please note this may change.
To apply, please complete the below form. To avoid disappointment, please apply at the earliest opportunity, application close in 48 hours, and we will email you by Christmas Eve to let you know if you have been successful.
NB
We also have at our discretion 20 x 100% free memberships to gift for bakers who are literally on the bread line. This is solely for bakers who have been both seperatd from their family AND who have ALSO lost their income.
Please mention that you would like to be considered for the scholarship the information you send in the application below clearly and I respectfully ask that if you do ask this please make sure that you really do fit the criteria; giving free places has a financial cost to us, as resources are needed to administer and support memberships and send starters – please do not ask if you do not need the full scholarship as you will be taking a place from someone who really does need it.
Kindest regards

DON’T QUALIFY?
Please ONLY apply if you have been separated from your family this Christmas. If you are well and you are lucky enough not to have not been impacted too much by the pandemic then I’d still really love you to join us and become a member – join the Sourdough Club click here.
Make sure to also sign up to our e-magazine here. We occasionally run other offers and we share these with our newsletter subscribers first.
Please also note that the Sourdough School also has a newsletter that goes out to our students who have attended the school. This is a totally separate newsletter often about nutrition & digestibility of bread and you can sign up for free to this one too.
