We regularly use both our short-handled and long-handled iron baking peels from Netherton Foundry. Having both gives us the flexibility to choose the appropriate one to load and remove pizzas and loaves from our ovens.

The short handled iron baking peel looks good, is really practical, and a pleasure to use. The durable blade is 30cm (12″) wide and the peel has an overall length of 48cm (19″). The peel comes pre-seasoned with Sussex flax oil, so there are no nasty chemical coatings. Made by our friends at Netherton Foundry, we know that each peel has been hand-crafted and designed to deliver professional performance.

Ideal for home bakers, the iron baking peel can be used with all ovens… ranges, electric, gas and wood fired, and makes a versatile addition to your kitchen.

What makes this iron baking peel so special?

  • The thin black iron blade simply slides under the food.
  • Ideal for use with griddle and baking plates and pizza stones.
  • Heavy duty 1/8 inch (3mm) thick black iron handle.
  • Durable 99.1% pure iron pre-seasoned with flax oil for a natural non-stick finish & easy to clean.
  • Suitable for high temperatures, resists warping & buckling.
  • Hand made, British oak handle covers with brass fixings.
